Gentlemen’s Quest of Tampa awards over $30,000 in scholarships to minority students

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) —The nonprofit organization Gentlemen’s Quest of Tampa just awarded over $30,000 in scholarships to minority high school graduates.

Gentlemen’s Quest of Tampa, Inc. is a mentorship organization for young Black men across Tampa Bay. For the past decade, the organization has helped with the academic, professional and personal progression of hundreds of local young men. GQ also exposes them to unique opportunities like writing books, college campus visits, STEM camp and more.

On Saturday, GQ hosted their annual awards gala where nine high school graduates received scholarships. They ranged from $500 to two full years of their college education. Over $30,000 was awarded to the students and three of them received two-year college scholarships.

WFLA’s Deanne King hosted GQ’s scholarship gala for the third year.
