TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — From preschool to college, having a graduation ceremony is no small feat, especially for one little boy, Xavier, who missed his kindergarten graduation due to traveling.
Luckily, Frontier Airlines heard about Xavier’s missed graduation, making it their mission to give the soon-to-be first grader a special ceremony on their flight out of Florida last month.
“Graduating kindergarten calls for a sky-high celebration,” the airline wrote on Facebook.
Xavier was proudly wearing his red graduation cap and gown on his flight from Orlando International Airport to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in Puerto Rico when flight attendants noticed the young graduate.
The flight attendants spoke with the boy’s mother and grandmother and they came up with a plan to give Xavier an in-flight ceremony.
“Even though traveling out of town meant missing his kindergarten graduation ceremony, Xavier proudly wore his graduation cap and gown on the flight. Flight attendants noticed and spoke with Xavier, his grandmother, and his mom, and upon learning he was missing his ceremony, they suggested an in-flight graduation,” Frontier said.
All dressed up in graduation attire, Xavier stood patiently at the back of the plane while the flight attendants announced they had a special passenger on board.

“We have a special occasion that’s getting ready to commence,” Pamela, the flight attendant, said over the intercom. “We would like your help in helping Xavier. He is missing his kindergarten graduation today and because he chose to fly Frontier, we’re giving him his graduation ceremony on this flight.”
Xavier’s mother posted a TikTok of the sweet moment, thanking Frontier for making her son’s kindergarten graduation “unforgettable.”
The video shows Xavier walking down the aisle of the plane as commencement music plays in the background. The boy was all smiles as he gave passengers high fives, embracing the cheers and congratulations –– he even got to meet the pilots!
“Everyone happily agreed, and our flight attendants organized a special in-flight ceremony to make Xavier’s flight unforgettable,” the airline wrote. “Congratulations, Xavier!”
